A great choker is not a one-night piece. Here is how we wear ours through a whole season.
One — with a plain silk saree. Let the neck do all the talking: bare ears, hair up, nothing else. This is the most regal version of you.
Two — over a high-neck blouse. The unexpected layering of gold on fabric turns bridal jewellery into fashion. Best with deep, solid colours: bottle green, ink blue, oxblood.
Three — with a white shirt. Yes, really. Two buttons open, sleeves rolled. The contrast of heritage kundan against crisp cotton is the fastest way to make a Tuesday feel like an occasion.
Four — stacked with a thin mother-of-pearl strand. Mixing textures — glass kundan with iridescent shell — adds depth without adding weight.
Five — as a headpiece. Our karigars secretly love this one: many Kratim chokers have dori closures that tie beautifully across a bun or braid for a sangeet.
One piece, five women. That is the mathematics of a good jewel.
